安娜堡的Huron River
安娜堡的夏季是极美极舒适的。从5月下旬,一直到9月中,总是60到80度之间,隔两三天就会下一场夜雨。而安娜堡夏季中最美的地方,就是这条Huron River。
说起来这条河,我前两年从里面钓到过不少鱼。钓鱼的确是一项最好的运动,因为基本不需要动。只要撑好几根杆,多绑几个钩,上足诱饵,就可以这么坐上整整一个上午。这条Huron River流经的很多钓点都是人迹罕至的。在这里只有流水潺潺与风扫树林的声音。在这里可以和大自然无限的亲近,远离尘嚣。看流水一去不返,光与影随时间慢慢迁移,心灵的重担随之卸下。
去年年底我决定要少些杀生,所以放弃了这项活动。不过周末还是常常带孩子们去河边玩。河水淌的慢,又浅,完全不用担心孩子们掉到河里--更不用像佛州人民那样担心被鳄鱼吃掉。 看着孩子们无忧无虑的玩耍,鱼儿在水中欢快的游,鹈鹕从水面掠过。原来天地万物可以如此和谐的相处!不由惊觉自己碌碌所作与所求之事是多么无聊之极,愚蠢之极!

六十斤鸡粪的力量
今年年初的一天,回到家就闻见一股臭气熏天的味道。不用说,是我家的老朋友家的鸡粪又晒好了。
这位老朋友是位黑人大叔,太太是个白人。如果二老还健在的话,应该奔九十了。这几年来我们一直从他们那里买鹅蛋和鸡蛋。今年以来没有见过两位老人。是二老的孙子当家了。不过我们算是‘世交’,所以小孩子也认识我们,鸡粪一晾干。我们就接到了邮件通知。
这家的鸡粪是高浓度鸡粪,一斤化化开可以变成5斤。
于是,今年我家的丁香是这种节奏开的。
还有比脑袋略大的芍药。(这位姑娘是我家所有小孩里脑袋最大的。)

推荐年度韩国神剧《Signal》
在反复研究三遍之后,我确定,我看懂了。

这部片子deliver了几个信息:
第一,人是破不了命的。一群人,折腾半天,试图改变历史,救一些受害者,结果酿成了更大的惨剧;试图干掉坏人,结果更坏的人上位了。无论你再怎么try, fight, struggle,最后什么都改变不了。命里有时终须有,命里无时莫强求。人,一定要认命。
第二,这世界就是坏人赢。为啥呢,按照我的一个网友(一位名校教授)说的,因为‘坏人狠,脸皮厚,人前人后各一套脸不红心不跳不愧疚,可以牺牲一切包括友情感情’。所以坏人永远赢。Signal里面,好人被栽赃入狱暗杀,坏人升官发财享受。其实生活也是一部戏,只要看生活就够了。但是生活比剧情更狗血。看看我周围,越是人品差的,越贪婪,越厚颜无耻,越人前人后,就越顺利,从学生到老师都是这样。
只要到了那个位置的,都是那么坏;如果没有那么坏,就到不了那个位置。我有一次在实验室陈述了这个观点。历史上唯一一次,在我讲过一段话后,全实验室频频点头,一致同意。要知道我们实验室的小孩都很有自己的观点的。似乎在其他任何事情上,都没有过如此的一致。所以说,此事已无解。
第三,恶人自有恶人磨。你坏,还有比你更坏的。按照领导的理论,最后推出来就是头顶上主宰世界那位是个大恶人,要不然没法解释。好人苦,坏人心里也苦。人生就是各种苦。唯有离六道往生死,方能得解脱。
片子里面用到了韩国的一个俗语,‘推土机前面弄大铲’,竟然是直译的,没有翻译成‘班门弄斧’。
最后赞一下片子里出现的几个小演员,韩国电视界真是人才济济,后生可畏。

两个observation
我最近有两个非常重要的observation (其实还有另外几个,以后慢慢讲)。
第一个是,在所有动物里,人死亡的过程是最漫长而痛苦的。
第二个是,在所有动物里,人的一生的是最痛苦的。
人的一生可以和兔子比一下。兔子,只要出去,就有无限的草可以吃。生理需求可以无限的满足。没有任何学习或是工作的压力。死,要么是heart attack,要么eaten by other animals,恐惧也就是几分钟的事情。但是人,出生后几年,就开始有各种peer pressure,各种压力。生理欲望得不到满足,要节育,各种自我阉割。从十几岁就开始担忧死亡,但是到了壮年还远远死不了。要在几十年的过程中让身体的各部分慢慢销蚀,这个器官衰竭,那个器官割掉,最后在既漫长又痛苦的病痛和心理无限的恐惧之下死亡。 最重要的是,Nothing is changed, 最后还是要死。这里还牵出另一个非常重要的observation,这一个动物,不管生前多么张牙舞爪,死了都是一样不能动的,并没有什么区别--以后细讲。
于是我就百思不得其解,这是为啥呢。后来我想明白了,就是因为坏事做多了,要不然没法解释。坏事做的越多,死亡的过程就越漫长而痛苦。比如国内一些高官,明明已经绑在床上动不了了,还得生不如死的插管活着。在整个动物界上来看,也是越是罪恶的,就死的越痛苦漫长。比起草食动物可以被一口吃掉,肉食动物最后就得慢慢饿死,当然还是比人要爽得多。这个规律overall是有strong correlation的。

翻译了一下《烟花易冷》

英文太差,不能表达原著的十分之一,权当宣扬一下中国文化,见笑了。
It's taking about a story in ancient china. that the husband went to war, and his wife waited in the city where they met, and the city was destroyed in the war. but the wife kept on waiting and waiting in a temple by herself until she dies. * in the temple/Budo tower/Buddhism appeared several times in the song * in chinese culture they all mean that one no longer has love/hope but gives his/her rest life to buddha.
the song sings in the role of the husband when he came back from war many many years later after the death of the wife.
Now, the Translation (forgive my terrible english):
Flourishes fall into Buddhism, hurting people so much.
the dream chills, my life turns up and down, and to whom i owe my love?
as you silently agreed, i was waiting in pain living or dying.
waiting in pain, year after year.
(it is talking about when all happiness are gone, people turn to buddhism, and then starts to describe the after years of war, the husband (i) went back)
whose life was killed by the Budo tower, and whose hope?
i am running to the temple where the candle is swaying in the wind.
please let me see, that the history would change,
and i would wait for the wine, and wait for you to play a song with GuZheng.
(GuZheng,a traditional chinese instrument; it is talking about that i (the husband) was waiting for the wife to cook the wine-- in ancient china, wines are first cooked before serving, this paragraph is talking about the husband came back and running to see the wife, and he was hoping to see his wife cooking wines and playing music for him., this paragraph talks about imagination. then the following three paragraphs talk about the fact the husband saw)

i heard that you have been alone all the time.
the root of old trees grow onto the mottled gates,
and a sound echoes on the slates: still waiting....

(this paragraph is kind of difficult to understand. it is talking about the the fate will bring them into new lifes after lifes and lifes.... and thousands years. and then the next paragraph goes back to the initial life.... that's my understanding).

国语男歌手里我最欣赏的一位:林志炫
周末终于抽出时间把林志炫那一期的《谁是大歌神》找出来看了两遍。盲猜哪个是林那个是模唱对我没有什么难度。因为我实在太熟悉林各个时期的声音了。非常可惜,林在《离人》的头两个字稍稍有点儿抖,被一位模唱(据说是林志炫歌迷协会会长)两倍票数超过。其实在我听来,这位模唱,虽然很牛很牛,但是唱的时候雕饰过多,和林还是有很大区别的。
林唱第一首的时候,有一位嘉宾说,这个声音这么单薄,肯定不是林志炫(其实那位就是林)。这个评论,有点儿让人心痛,林这两年确是还是有一些变化的。我一直比较留意他的动向。但是最近又开始研究他的作品还是因为看了《音乐大师课》。一开始我真是都没有认出来他。怎么说呢,脸没有老,但是早年那种王子般的气质少了。
我们那一代人,谁不知道《单身情歌》《蒙娜丽莎的眼泪》。可惜,这么好的天资,这样的努力,林始终没有火起来,至少没有他的歌火。这么多年来总是在翻唱别人的歌。在《我是歌手》里唱过《烟花易冷》之后,林说,希望方文山和周杰伦能写一首歌给他。想想现在越来越不可能了。今年林已经50了,无论如何已经过了事业的顶峰。那首《浮夸》真是唱出了他的心声:“难道非要浮夸吗 内心也曾很挣扎,一个人努力的时候,有谁看见吗,有谁知道吗”, “难道非要浮夸吗 无谓是非与真假, 拼排场包装比身价,谁是大赢家,谁是大赢家。”其实林不适合唱这种声嘶力竭的歌,‘情歌王子’么。这首歌也不能说悦耳。但是还是感动到我了,娱乐圈也这样,或许只要有‘圈’的地方都是这样。
我最喜欢林的三首歌。第一首是《离人》,没有别的理由,‘世纪哄娃神曲’么。以前在网上看到过只要这歌放三遍。小孩就睡着了。这也是我们家哄睡的必备几首之一。第二首,《散了吧》。这歌一直配我的心境。无关失恋。就是那几句“散了吧,认了吧,算了吧,放了吧。要原谅,要潇洒,别回想,别留下”。可是无奈放不下,还是要挣扎,“可惜连我的心都不听话,可怜受伤的爱还想挣扎”。第三首是他翻唱的《你的眼神》。就是上面的那个图。这首歌里,那个王子又回来了。很美的画面,王子与公主的相遇。

《我们仨》重聚
今早打开新闻,看到杨绛去世。之前已经‘被去世’过好几次。这次大概是真的。
我也是几年前才关注她的作品。先是迷上《围城》,然后把这夫妻俩的文章,传记等等都找出来读。当然此过程中也不可避免看了一些关于杨绛人品的八卦。不过历史的真伪都不重要,只要留得下文章,时间够久就大家都是好人。就像季羡林日记里曾经写过,他‘此生最大的愿望,就是多体验几个国家的女人’(当然这肯定是>80%男性此生最大的愿望)。胡适早年得留学日记,基本是今天找这个打牌,明天找那个打牌,感觉就是整个学校的同学轮流陪他打牌。但这些都不重要,只要留下好文章,终究会成为大师。
《我们仨》这本书,文字一般,如果不是钱钟书的夫人写的,必然不可能出名。其实普通家庭的生离死别,几十年中的变迁波折,这类小说写出来能打动人的特别多。比起那些,或许因为《我们仨》是纪实,真是非常平淡无味。只有一点还是触动到我了。就是家里人都死光了,自己还活着,而且还不知道要活多久,那种无尽的折磨。
前几天我跟领导讨论”留下你或,留下我在,世间上终老”,这句歌词里的‘终老’是啥意思。领导说就是‘老死’。‘成千上万个门口,总有一个人要先走’。而留下的那个总是备受煎熬。杨绛老先生最后活了105岁,这后20年回忆,等死,真是一种没有希望的生活。今天终于和爱人女儿重聚,算是喜丧中的喜丧。
